Takura Musungwa

Takura Musungwa, Tennis Arukat AcademyTakura was born in Zimbabwe, where he started playing tennis at the age of 10. He started coaching tennis at age 20. He moved to London,England where he continued toplay and coach tennis at Next Generations Tennis Club in London for two years. He then moved to Glasgow, Scotland and worked at the world famous David Lloyds Sports and Leisure Centre for two years. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he coached at Riverside Tennis Club under Brian De Villiers for six years. He took a four year tennis research tour to Europe where he coached at one of the biggest clubs in Berlin, Germany, Havellandhalle Sports Centre for 2.5 years under Peter Dietrich (Vic Braden methods). The other year and a half he spent learning and observing the way other pros teach and run tennis academies/clubs in France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Belgium, Spain, Poland and Netherlands. He moved back to Atlanta and now directs the TAA Program. He holds the highest qualification in America and also the following qualifications:

  • United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Elite Pro
  • United States Tennis Association (USTA) Sports Science Level I
  • United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR)
  • International Tennis Federation (ITF) Level II
  • Tennis Association of Zimbabwe (TAZ)

Takura has a passion for and great experience with grassroots tennis and he has also worked with high performance players as high as top 100 in the ATP and WTA world rankings. He has helped countless number of players earn full-ride US college tennis scholarships. He has attended numerous seminars and courses on technique, singles and doubles strategies, physical conditioning, mental toughness, club management, health and nutrition etc…by speakers like Nick Bollettieri, Patrick McEnroe, Jim Loehr, Feisal Hassan, Rick Macci, Tom Daglis, Joe Dinoffer and many more…
